I could tell you about the blood, oh Lord, the blood.  I could tell you about the sound of a shotgun when it barks in the hallway of your own home, at night, the sound ripping you from a dream.  I could tell you about the stink of the men and their bikes as they roared down the 101, each one with a picture of me tucked into their cut, each one mouthing my address under the long ripping of their unmuffled engines.  I could tell you many things about why I haven't updated in a while.

But really, I just lost the password.

I have a new story, "Agua Dulce", which will be published soon, and a new episode of The Mentalist ("Red Alert") that will air sometime around the last week of January.  I'm also writing a pilot right now, currently titled Circling the Drain, although that could change.  I may put together a top-ten list of my favorite crime things here in the next few days.  Stay tuned, not so gentle reader.
